Job Summary
The Medical Assistant/Registration role combines clinical and administrative responsibilities to support efficient patient care. You’ll be the first point of contact for patients, assisting with both medical procedures and front-desk operations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties:
- Take and record vital signs, patient history, and other relevant information.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and other diagnostic tasks.
- Administer injections, vaccines, and medications as directed.
- Ensure exam rooms are cleaned and stocked.
Registration/Administrative Duties:
- Greet and check in patients, verifying insurance and personal information.
- Collect co-pays and explain billing procedures.
- Schedule appointments and handle follow-up communications.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Answer phones and address patient inquiries professionally.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Experience: 1+ year of experience in a medical or urgent care setting is preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, multitasking, and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with EMR systems and basic computer skills required.
- Current BLS, CPR and X-ray certification are a plus.
- Spanish speaking is a plus.
- Current BLS/CPR certification is a plus.
