    Job Purpose: 
    The Certified Medical Assistant works as part of a healthcare team in a pediatric urgent care under the supervision of the Department Manager, Practice Administrator, and Providers by assisting in planning and implementing care interventions while promoting high quality patient care in a professional, efficient and safe manner.
    Job Duties:
    • Prepares patients for examination and treatment. Takes and records history and vital signs.
    • Maintains exam rooms by stocking necessary supplies and materials as determined by practice protocol and physician preferences. Ensures cleanliness. Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination and testing of patients.
    • Prepares and administers patient injections, performs blood draws, and processes in-house labs, prepares lab samples to be sent out to Quest or LabCorp.
    • IV Insertion 
    • Collects, labels and processes specimens.
    • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatment.
    • Collaborates with different departments to ensure smooth clinical operations are being met and achieved.
    • Maintains patient confidentiality.
    • Responsible for some administrative functions, such as completing health forms, entering specialist consults, and scanning medical record documents.
    • Verifying current medications at each office visit.
    • Verifying allergies at each office visit.
    • Perform other related duties as directed or required.
    • Job role primarily for SAME DAY SICK VISITS

    Weekly schedule:
    Shifts are scheduled from 07:00am-07:00pm in the office with rotating Saturday assignments

    Education:
    • High school or equivalent (Required)
    License/Certification:
    • BLS Certification (Preferred)
    • Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
    • CPR Certification (Required)
      • Can obtain within the organization once hired
