Toledo Clinic's Family Practice office located in Toledo OH is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. This position will provide both administrative and clinical support. Qualified candidates will have an active MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA) or the ability to obtain such credential within 60 days of employment. The hours are Mon/Wed/Thurs (8-5), Tues (8-6) and Fri (8-12).
Toledo Clinic is offering a $2,000 Sign-On Bonus to qualified Medical Assistants. If qualified, sign on bonuses are payable within 30 days of hire to employees that have active and verified credentials (ex: RMA/CMA/CCMA/CPCT-A). For employees that have not yet obtained or renewed their credential, the Sign-On Bonus is payable once the credential is obtained and verified. After one year of service, qualified Medical Assistants may be eligible for an additional $2,000 Retention Bonus.
General Summary
Perform various clerical duties to support the operation of the office and as needed performs clinical duties. Will fill in clinical MAs as needed.
Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
Answering phones - courteously and professionally.
Scheduling appointments, MCAWV, lab tests, etc.
Accurately enter patient information in to the electronic medical record.
Prior authorizations, cleaning up problem lists.
Assist with worklists and Rx refills.
Updating insurance information.
Escorting patients to exam rooms.
Preparing and maintaining exam rooms.
Other Essential Duties May Include but Are Not Limited To
Assisting physician with minor procedures.
Preparing patients for physicians (vitals, BP checks, UA, histories, etc.).
Answering patient questions at the request of the physician.
Other duties as assigned.

Required:

Adheres to all clinic policies and procedures.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Seeks appropriate tasks when primary tasks are completed and assists co-workers as needed.
Demonstrates adaptability to expanded roles.
Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: RMA or CMA).
Education:
Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.
