Description
We are seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join our team with our Specialty Care Center (SCC) team! This is a part-time position (64hrs per two-week pay period) and is benefits-eligible.
The Specialty Care Center at Memorial Health includes Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Neurology, Oncology & Hematology, Physical Medicine and Rebab (EMG), Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Clinic, Pulmonary, Rheumatology, and Sleep Medicine.
What Youll Do
- Perform delegated nursing functions under the supervision of the RN or LPN using established procedures, policies, guidelines and standards of care.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery.
- Manually cleans and disinfects patient care items and equipment notifies director of missing or malfunctioning equipment.
- Answers phones, records messages, and greets patients and visitors.
- Obtains insurance pre-authorization as necessary.
- Prepare charts for physician clinics and schedules patient appointments.
- Documents and reports observations to the nurse or provider.
- Accurately documents patient care provided on appropriate hospital forms and within the established timeframe
What Youll Bring/Requirements:
- Training or experience as a medical assistant
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years experience in a medical office setting
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Personal computer, data entry, and communication skills
- Ability to acquire American Heart Association/BLS within 60 days of employment.
