    Hours: 8-hour shifts - 7:00am - 5:00pm Mon - Thur/8:00a - 12:00p on Friday

    Location: Riverview Regional Medical Center (Southside Family Medicine) - Gadsden, AL

    We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Gadsden Physician Management clinic, affiliated with Riverview Regional Medical Center. Also referred to as an Outpatient Clinical Medical Assistant (CMA), Family Medicine Medical Assistant Medicine or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), our clinic supports providers by preparing patients for exams, performing clinical tasks like taking vitals, administering injections, and documenting in the EMR. They also help with patient education, care coordination, and front office duties to ensure efficient and high-quality care.

    You must be a Certified Medical Assistant from the National Healthcare Association or other nationally recognized organization to move forward in this position, or be willing to get your certification within 90 days of hire.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

    • Prepare patients for exams by taking vitals, updating medical history, and noting current symptoms
    • Assist with clinical procedures such as EKGs, injections, wound care, and immunizations
    • Collect and process lab specimens including blood draws, throat swabs, and urinalysis
    • Administer medications, coordinate referrals and follow-ups, and document care in the EMR
    • Provide patient education, support infection control, and help with scheduling and front office tasks

    Qualifications

    Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    • Medical Assistant Certification or 90 days to complete certification
    • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
    • Minimum one year work experience in public contact job
