About the Position
We are seeking a dependable, compassionate, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our busy family medicine practice. The ideal candidate is a team player with excellent communication skills who enjoys providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and obtain vital signs
- Document patient history and chief complaints in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Prepare exam rooms and assist providers during patient visits
- Administer injections, immunizations, and perform point-of-care testing as directed
- Perform EKGs, ear irrigations, and other clinical procedures within scope of practice
- Handle prescription refill requests and some patient phone messages
- Maintain exam room cleanliness and stock supplies
- Follow HIPAA guidelines and infection control procedures
- Work collaboratively with providers and office staff to ensure efficient patient care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program
- Certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred but not required
- Previous family medicine or primary care experience is preferred but not required
- Experience with an electronic medical record (EMR) system preferred
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Reliable, professional, and able to work well in a team environment
