Job Summary:

We are seeking a friendly and dedicated Medical Assistant, certified or non-certified, to join our dynamic retina team. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in a specialized area of ophthalmology while providing essential support to our physicians and patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare patients for ophthalmic examinations.
  • Obtain detailed medical histories, documenting symptoms, medications, and previous eye treatments.
  • Perform basic eye tests including visual acuity, applanation tonometry and administer eye drops as directed by physician.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques to ensure a sterile environment in examination rooms.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, while maintaining confidentiality and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Prepare exam rooms between patients, ensuring cleanliness and availability of necessary supplies.
  • Promote a culture aligned with the organization’s values, encouraging good performance and productivity.
  • Demonstrate positive interpersonal communication and teamwork.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work with small, delicate instruments.
  • Occasional lifting of medical equipment or supplies.

Travel:

This position requires travel as part of the role. After completing initial training in Salem, staff members will join a rotating team that travels to our satellite locations in Albany, Corvallis, and Newberg. Typically, this rotation involves traveling to one of these locations 1-2 times per week. All travel time and mileage are fully compensated in accordance with company policy.

At Retina Consultants, we specialize in the medical and surgical treatment and management of all systemic types of vitreo-retinal diseases. All of our physicians are Board Certified and Fellowship-trained medical and surgical retina specialists. Some of the vitreo-retinal diseases that we specialize in diagnosing and treating are:
Retinal tears and detachments,
Vitreous detachment,
Diabetic retinopathy,
Macular hole, macular pucker,
Age-related macular degeneration.

Salary

$25.00 - $34.00 per hour
