Pay: Starting at $24/hr
Schedule: Monday through Friday | Five 8.5-hour shifts scheduled between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM
Position OverviewA well-established healthcare organization is seeking a compassionate and dependable Medical Assistant to join its urology practice in Queens, NY.
This position will support physicians and clinical staff with patient intake, specimen collection, diagnostic testing, examination preparation, and in-office procedures. The ideal candidate will be organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable assisting patients in a fast-paced specialty practice.
Responsibilities- Manage patient intake and accurately document patient information
- Measure and record vital signs
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Collect and process laboratory specimens
- Perform venipuncture and diagnostic testing
- Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
- Assist physicians during examinations and office procedures
- Sterilize medical equipment and instruments
- Assist providers and support staff with data entry
- Follow standard precautions when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications- Medical Assistant Certificate required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous medical office or clinical experience preferred
- Experience using an electronic medical record system preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred
- Venipuncture and EKG experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and patient-service skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism and patient confidentiality
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment
