A non-licensed employee possessing knowledge of basic nursing care and front office skills to support the delivery of high-quality, cost effective patient care. Functions under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or LVN at all times. Reports to Charge RN OR, Business Supervisor and DON.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist with admitting patients from the waiting room to the pro-op area
  • Assist with dressing patients in proper surgical attire before surgery
  • Hook-up patient monitors and obtain first set of vital signs and record
  • assist patients during transfers on/off gurney
  • Keep PACU supplies well stocked
  • Provides pre/post-operative care and instructions.
  • Assists in surgery by preparing the laser room with supplies and sterilized equipment.
  • Stocks all medication and medical supplies by proactively planning work week to ensure completion of required tasks.
  • Calls to request pre/post-ops on surgery patients.
  • Orders all medical supplies.
  • Keeps up with all regular and emergency maintenance on medical equipment.
Qualifications:
  • BLS certified
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • One year experience in a Medical setting
