    Medical Assistant – Fairfax, VA

    Spectrum Healthcare Resources, in partnership with Kako'o, is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join the team at the Fairfax Ambulatory Care Center in Fairfax, Virginia.

     

    This is a full-time opportunity to work in an outpatient healthcare setting supporting the care of active-duty military members, veterans, and their dependents.     Position Details

    • Schedule: 36 hours per week
    • Monday–Friday: Four 10.5-hour shifts, 6:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.
    • Saturday: 7:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. every other Saturday
    • No on-call responsibilities
    • No federal holiday shifts
    • Location: Fairfax Ambulatory Care Center – Fairfax, VA
    • Employment: Full-time employee position

    Position Overview

    The Medical Assistant provides clinical and administrative support to the healthcare team and helps ensure an efficient, positive experience for patients.

    Responsibilities

    • Greet patients and visitors and assist with the check-in process
    • Review medical records and ensure required documentation is complete and properly maintained
    • Verify patient eligibility and assist with required insurance and identification documentation
    • Schedule and coordinate treatments, appointments, and services as requested by providers
    • Answer and appropriately route telephone calls while maintaining patient confidentiality
    • Respond to patient questions and administrative concerns and direct clinical concerns to the appropriate staff
    • Maintain front-desk forms, supplies, and inventory
    • Assist clinical staff with obtaining and tracking medical records, pathology reports, imaging, and other documentation
    • Maintain accurate logs and electronic records as required
    • Prepare routine correspondence, medical statements, and other documentation as directed
    • Provide general administrative and clerical support to the clinical team

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant training program or an associate degree in Medical Assisting from an accredited college
    • Previous experience working in a medical or healthcare setting
    • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
    • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
    • Proficiency with computers, basic word processing, data entry, and electronic medical records
    • U.S. citizenship required
