Statement of Purpose: This position will be based primarily on-site at a Metro Health Center location, working in a unique community-based setting where we are providing Primary Care and additional supportive services. This position provides direct nursing services and procedures to patients; works as part of a multidisciplinary team to enhance patient quality of life though competent medical intervention; and ensures all documentation is compliance with professional and legal standards.\n \nPrimary Tasks/Responsibilities:\n\n Performs medical intake procedures including taking vital signs, reviewing medical history, and completing risk assessments.\n Records and reports symptoms, reactions, treatments and changes in patient's conditions.\n Completes all physician orders including venipuncture lab draws, medication administration, vaccinations, injectables, etc.\n Documents all patient care in an accurate, timely, legible manner in compliance with Nursing Department protocols.\n Completes health education counseling for all patients.\n Maintains confidentiality regarding patient and/or family in accordance with established protocols.\n Reviews charts of patients to ensure all necessary documentation is present, current, and complete to facilitate and triage visit.\n Collaborates with METRO team members to coordinate patient services.\n Utilize resources in a cost-effective manner.\n Provides assistance in all clinical areas within scope of practice, as needed.\n Conduct HIV/HCV and STI testing in office.\n Complete accurate and immediate documentation of all performed services in electronic medical records system, along with ongoing timely documentation of all patient contacts and communication.\n Work succinctly with medical providers, members of patient's treatment team, and other agency personnel to ensure patients' seamless access to onsite treatment.\n Maintain required records, files, and forms in an organized manner and in accordance with HIPAA and other state, local, and federal guidelines\n Other relevant related duties as assigned.\n \nEducation/Professional:\n\n MA licensure from accredited school OR equivalent experience/training(1 year).\n 1 year Phlebotomy experience\n 1 year administering injections\n \nKnowledge, Skills and Competencies Required:\n\n Demonstrates knowledge of documentation protocols.\n Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, medications, and accepted treatment practices.\n Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong interpersonal and organizational skills.\n Ability to recognize and adhere to professional boundaries and standards.\n Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team.\n Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced and changing environment, and skilled at multi-tasking.\n Ability to apply principals of health promotion and disease prevention.\n Strong computer skills and knowledge including word processing, database operations, spreadsheets, and other software systems, including electronic medical records (experience with eClinical Works preferred)\n Demonstrated ability to work effectively and professionally with individuals from varied backgrounds and experiences.\n \nRequirements:\n\n Must possess and maintain valid Florida driver's license and proof of insurance\n Must have reliable and accessible auto vehicle.\n Must pass Level II background check (https://info.flclearinghouse.com) and employment eligibility verification through the U.
