    About the role

    This is a full-time position, not a seasonal summer role. We are seeking a skilled and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our orthopedic practice. This role supports physicians and clinical staff in delivering high-quality, efficient care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, and is committed to providing excellent patient experiences.


    What you'll do

    • Personally escort patients to all locations, as necessary, during their visit: lobby to exam room, exam room to the surgery coordinator, outside testing and patient check out
    • Knowledge and execution of physician’s clinic protocols
    • Assists physician in clerical duties which include reviewing and updating the patient’s medical history and patient related information through Athena
    • Assist physicians in clinical duties which include injection prep, casting, cast removal, dressings, suture removal and wound care
    • Apply Evaluation & Management codes and modifiers properly
    • Schedule follow up appointments
    • Inventory medical supplies and restock clinical areas
    • Distribute QR Code physician cards to patients
    • Concise communication with all other departments
    • Any additional tasks and duties assigned

    Qualifications 

    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Medical Assistant experience of at least one-year, preferred
    • Time management and problem solving
    • Verbal, communication, and comprehension skills
    • Punctuality in arriving to work and reliability in attendance
    • Above average computer skills
    • Experience with Athena One (athenahealth) EMR system a plus!
