Description
A Central New York health services organization is actively seeking a new Medical Assistant for a great Per Diem opportunity at one of their facilities in Hamilton County.
About the Opportunity:
Schedule: Sept 15th to Sept 17th and Oct 27 to Oct 29 and Nov 3 to Nov 5
Hours: 8am to 4pm
Responsibilities:
Room patients and assist with patient flow; check schedules and organize patient flow
Accompany patients to exam rooms; assist patients with walking and transfers as needed
Collect patient histories; prepare patients for exams and procedures
Send and receive patient medical records
Obtain lab reports, X-ray reports, hospital notes, and referral information
Complete forms and requisitions
Set up instruments and equipment according to department protocols
Clean exam and procedure rooms between patient visits
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
6+ months of related work experience
High School Diploma / GED
Computer savvy
Desired Qualifications:
1+ year of Emergency Room experience
Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
Medical Assistant certification
BLS certification
Working knowledge of MEDENT EMRs
Experience in an Outpatient Clinic
Orthopedic background
