What You''ll Be Doing:
- Assist the pediatrician and nursing staff with patient preparation, examinations, and care coordination
- Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, and other clinical information appropriate to pediatric patients
- Assist with pediatric screenings, immunizations, and other routine clinical procedures as directed and within scope of training
- Communicate effectively with pediatric patients and their parents/caregivers to support a positive patient experience
- Maintain clinical work areas, equipment, and supplies
- Support efficient patient flow and clinic operations
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in compliance with HCC policies and procedures
- Demonstrate professionalism and compassion in all patient and staff interactions
- Perform other duties as assigned in support of clinic operations
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
- Current Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Current CPR certification preferred - training available
Special Skills and Abilities:
- Basic clinical knowledge and skill level appropriate to education and training
- Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care considerations, including infants, children, and adolescents
- Ability to establish rapport with pediatric patients and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional when working with children who may be anxious, fearful, or uncooperative
- Ability to seek, accept, and utilize supervision appropriately
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to document accurately and appropriately
- Basic computer skills
- Working knowledge of insurance types
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Flexibility and reliability to support the needs of the clinical team
