What You’ll Do

As a Pediatric Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in creating a positive experience for our patients and supporting our providers in delivering exceptional pediatric care.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Welcome and prepare infants, children, and teens for examinations and procedures
  • Obtain and accurately document vital signs, medical histories, and patient concerns
  • Assist pediatric providers with examinations, immunizations, in-office procedures, and treatments
  • Administer vaccines and perform basic laboratory testing as directed
  • Collect and prepare specimens for outside laboratory processing
  • Provide age-appropriate patient and parent education on wellness, preventive care, and treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records (EMR)

Administrative Responsibilities

  • Schedule appointments and coordinate patient flow efficiently
  • Answer phones and assist families with professionalism and compassion
  • Verify insurance information and support front-office operations as needed
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and clinical inventory
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and Illinois healthcare regulations

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program preferred
  • Current CMA or RMA certification strongly preferred
  • CPR/BLS certification or willingness to obtain
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Comfort working with children of all ages in a busy clinical setting
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and compassion

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience in pediatrics or family medicine
  • Experience with vaccines, EMR systems, and pediatric workflows
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply
