    Overview: Medical Assistant


    Position Highlights:

    • Orthopaedics
    • Full-Time, 40 hours
    • Hours: Monday-Friday; 7:30am-5:00pm
    • Location: Lombard and Westmont MOB
    • Travel: Expected to travel to other clinics for coverage as needed - Wesmont Pasqunelli, and Elmhurst

    Responsibilities:

    • Room patients and complete clinical intake, including vital signs, medical history, medications, allergies, pain assessment, and accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR).
    • Support physicians and advanced practice providers throughout clinic to promote efficient patient flow, timely care, and a high-quality patient experience.
    • Prepare patients, examination rooms, supplies, and equipment for orthopaedic examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures; assist providers with procedures within established scope, training, and competency.
    • Perform orthopaedic clinical support duties as trained and directed, including suture and staple removal and cast/splint support.
    • Manage clinical responsibilities including patient messages, provider orders, referrals, imaging coordination, and follow-up care in accordance with established practice protocols.
    • Communicate provider-directed instructions and follow-up information to patients and appropriately escalate clinical concerns or changes in patient condition.
    • Maintain clean, organized, and appropriately stocked examination and clinical areas while adhering to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.
    • Complete accurate and timely EMR documentation while maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
    • Collaborate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, front-office teams, and other members of the care team to support coordinated patient care.
    • Provide clinical support across orthopaedic locations based on patient volume, staffing, and operational needs.


    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or GED required
    • Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required
    • CPR certification or willing to become certified upon hire required
    • Prior experience working as an MA, CMA, CNA, EMT or 2 years of prior experience working in a medical office assisting with patient care

    The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $21.43-23.63 for a Medical Assistant; Certified or Registered Medical Assistant the base pay range is $22.97-24.57, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.
