Compensation: $23/hour
Location: Old Bridge, NJ
Schedule: Monday to Friday (In-Office)
TAG MedStaffing is hiring a Medical Assistant in Old Bridge, NJ for our client, supporting patient care, clinical procedures, and day-to-day medical office operations. This role will prepare patients for appointments, assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, maintain accurate clinical documentation, and help ensure an efficient and positive patient experience.

Responsibilities as the Medical Assistant:

• Patient Care: Welcome patients, prepare them for appointments, obtain medical histories, and document reasons for visits.
• Clinical Support: Assist healthcare providers during examinations, treatments, and in-office procedures.
• Laboratory Support: Prepare specimens, perform basic in-office testing, and follow appropriate handling and safety procedures.
• Clinical Documentation: Accurately record patient information, examinations, treatments, and test results within the electronic medical record.
• Patient Education: Provide medication and care instructions as directed by healthcare providers.
• Medical Office Support: Maintain clinical supplies, prepare equipment and instruments, and follow HIPAA, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications for the Medical Assistant:

• Education: Completion of a Medical Assistant program or a bachelor's degree in Biology is required unless qualifying through applicable professional experience.
• Certification: CMA, RMA, or EMT certification is preferred, with 5+ years of continuous Medical Assistant experience accepted as an alternative qualification.
• Experience: 1+ years of Medical Assistant or related clinical support experience is required.
• Industry Knowledge: Knowledge of patient intake, clinical procedures, medical documentation, infection control, and HIPAA requirements is required.
• Technical Skills: Experience with electronic medical record systems is required, with Epic experience strongly preferred.
• Skills & Attributes: Strong patient service, communication, organization, teamwork, adaptability, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment are required.
