Description

The Medical Assistant (MA) participates in the delivery of excellent medical care in a patient centered physician owned Nephrology Corporation. The MA is responsible for completing administrative and clinical tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilties:
General Duties:
  • Adherence to organization's compliance programs, polices, procedures and handbook.
  • Records and updates medical histories, medications and contact information in patient electronic health record (EHR.)
  • Schedules patient appointments and completes referrals for patients.
  • Answers incoming patient calls and return voicemails from patients.
  • Accurate accessioning of patients to include taking and documenting vitals, rooming patients, and collecting lab specimens.
  • Maintains a clean, safe and well-stocked working area (includes exam rooms and clinical areas.)
  • Triage patients.
  • Administrative responsibilities include patient schedule confirmations and working in the front office area as needed.
  • Chart preparation prior to next visit, including obtaining and uploading outstanding patient test results from labs or uploading medical records.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish.
  • Experience in medical administrative support and patient care.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and physiology.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and vital signs monitoring.
  • Basic life support certification.
