Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture and/or EKGs, check schedules, and organize patient flow.
Accompany patients to exam/procedure room, assist with walking, transferring, and dressing.
Collect and process specimens and point of care testing, prepare for exam.
Assist physicians with various procedures, take vital signs, and relay instructions to patients and families.
Answer calls and provide pertinent information.
Send and receive patient medical records, obtain lab/x-ray reports, and manage charts.

Inventory, order, or re-stock medical supplies.
Set up examination room and instruments following proper sterilization techniques.
Maintain logging system for refrigeration of medications, point of care testing, sterilization process, crash cart, etc.
Check expiration dates on all medications and medical supplies, disposing appropriately.
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
Comply with personal protective equipment requirements for protection against exposure to hazardous substances.
Assist in the maintenance of medical charts (filing, Op Reports, test results, home care forms).
Schedule surgeries/procedures or work with Surgical Coordinator verifying times with patients.
Perform proficient phlebotomy duties.
Perform appointment scheduling and registration for patients, updating patient demographic and insurance information.
Maintain, adjust, and confirm patient office schedule.
Check, verify, and update insurance information utilizing internal or web sources.
Perform and verify pre-certification for procedures as necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED with completion of an approved Medical Assistant certificate course.
Medical Assistant certificate from an approved school.
