Pay Rate: $18 per hour - $22 per hour
Summary:
Shift Timings: Monday - Friday, must be flexible between 8am - 8pm.
Responsibilities:
Perform venipuncture and/or EKGs, organize patient flow, and assist patients with walking, transferring, and dressing.
Assist physicians with procedures, take vital signs, relay instructions, and answer calls.
Send and receive patient medical records, manage charts, and complete necessary forms using the EMR system or manually.
Enter orders into the EMR system or prepare prescription refill requests for physician review.
Inventory, order, or restock medical supplies as needed.
Set up examination rooms and instruments following sterilization techniques.
Maintain logging systems for medication refrigeration, sterilization processes, and crash cart checks.
Check expiration dates on medications and medical supplies, disposing of them appropriately.
Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
Comply with personal protective equipment requirements for protection against hazardous substances.
Maintain medical charts, assist with scheduling surgeries/procedures, and perform proficient phlebotomy duties if required.
Perform appointment scheduling, registration, and insurance verification as needed.
Perform pre-certification for procedures when necessary.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED with completion of an approved Medical Assistant certificate course.
Medical Assistant certificate from an approved school.
BLS certification required, issued by AHA.
Preferred Skills:
Basic computer skills, including MS Office Suite.
Effective communication with multicultural and language-deficit patients.
Excellent telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines.
Knowledge of electronic medical record or billing systems preferred.
Adaptability to a growing and changing environment.
