Medical Assistant Primary CareLocation: New Hyde Park/Lake Success, NY

Pay: Starting at $23/hr
Schedule: Monday through Friday | Five 8.5-hour shifts scheduled between 7:30 AM and 6:00 PM
Position OverviewA well-established healthcare organization is seeking a compassionate and dependable Medical Assistant to join its primary care team in the New Hyde Park/Lake Success area.
The Medical Assistant will support physicians and clinical staff with patient intake, specimen collection, diagnostic testing, examination preparation, and in-office procedures. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
Responsibilities- Greet patients and manage the clinical intake process
- Accurately document patient information and medical histories
- Measure and record vital signs
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
- Collect and process laboratory specimens
- Perform venipuncture and diagnostic testing
- Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing
- Assist physicians during examinations and office procedures
- Sterilize medical instruments and equipment
- Assist providers and support staff with data entry
- Follow standard precautions when handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
- Properly use personal protective equipment
- Travel to nearby practice locations when needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications- Medical Assistant Certificate required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous experience in a medical office or clinical setting preferred
- Experience using an electronic medical record system preferred
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills preferred
- Venipuncture and EKG experience strongly preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and patient-service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
