Description
A healthcare organization in New York City is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) to join its team in Staten Island to support both clinical and administrative operations in an ambulatory care setting.
About the Opportunity:
- Shift: Day shift
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday
- Hours: Standard business hours
- Setting: Ambulatory Care
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors professionally and support a welcoming clinic environment
- Assist with registration, check-in, check-out, scheduling, and insurance verification
- Support patient flow by communicating wait times, taking messages, and coordinating referrals
- Obtain vital signs, assist with patient intake, and support providers during clinical visits and procedures
- Perform EMR documentation, scan records, prepare specimens, and maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or eligibility to sit for the national certification exam and pass within 18 months of hire
- Experience using an EMR system
Desired Skills:
- EPIC experience
- Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
- Working knowledge of Epic EMRs
