A health services network in New York City is seeking a Medical Assistant (MA) in the Bronx, NY to support a busy care team at its outpatient medical practice.
About the Opportunity:
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8am to 5pm (with clinic hours from 8am to 6pm and occasional evening coverage until 8pm)
Setting: Outpatient clinic
Responsibilities:
Support providers with clinical and administrative duties
Obtain and document patient information accurately in the EMR
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes
Schedule appointments and maintain accurate patient records
Verify insurance and demographic information, answer incoming calls, coordinate referrals, and support follow-up care
Qualifications:
At least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA) and/or similar role
High School Diploma / GED
Experience using an EMR system
- Knowledge of medical terminology
Desired Skills:
Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
Medicial Assistant (MA) certification
Working knowledge of Epic EMRs
EPIC experience
