Description
A health services system in New York City is seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join their team in Queens at one of their outpatient medical practices.
About the Opportunity:
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8am to 5pm
Setting: Outpatient clinic
Responsibilities:
Support providers with both clinical and administrative duties
Obtain and document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
Manage patient check-in and check-out processes
Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and maintain accurate patient records
Answer incoming calls, verify insurance and demographic information, collect copays, and process payments
Qualifications:
Minimum of 1 year of Medical Assistant experience
High School Diploma / GED
Completion of a Medical Assistant (MA) program
Medical Assistant (MA) certification
Experience using an Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) system
Desired Skills:
Working knowledge of Epic EMRs
Knowledge of Medical terminology
Experience in a fast-paced outpatient environment
