Description
A medical group on Long Island is seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) for an ambulatory care clinic in Nassau County.
About the Opportunity:
Schedule: Monday to Friday
Hours: 8am to 5pm (clinic hours are 8am to 6pm)
Setting: Outpatient clinic
Responsibilities:
Support providers with clinical and administrative tasks in a patient care setting
Obtain and document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record
Manage patient check-in and check-out, scheduling, and appointment reminders
Verify insurance and demographic information, collect copays, and process payments
Coordinate referrals, specialty appointments, follow-up care, and patient communications
Qualifications:
Medical Assistant (MA) certification
Experience using an electronic medical record system
Ability to work one later evening shift per week as needed
Desired Skills:
Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant (MA)
EPIC experience
Knowledge of medical terminology
Experience in an outpatient ambulatory care environment
Familiarity with procedures such as endoscopy and biopsies
