A community services organization in New York City is seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join their growing team in Brooklyn.
About the Opportunity:
Schedule: Monday to Friday (rotates to Monday to Wednesday every 3 weeks)
Hours: 9am to 5pm (40 hours per week; Rotate Monday- Wednesday 11am to 7pm every 3 weeks)
Responsibilities:
Assisting providers during patient visits with vital signs and documentation
Obtaining prior authorizations for prescriptions and equipment
Collecting and processing blood and other specimens
Drafting prescription requests in the EMR
Maintaining and stocking clinical supplies and forms
Performing other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
Up to 2 years of Medical Assistant experience
High School Diploma / GED
Medical Assistant (MA) certification
BLS certification
Phlebotomy and EKG skills
Computer savvy
Great interpersonal and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Desired Qualifications:
Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
Experience in a Psychiatric role/setting
Knowledge of Ambulatory Practice Operations
Experience with LGBT+ populations
