Medical Assistant (MA)

A health services network in New York City is seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join their ambulatory care clinic in Brooklyn.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day

• Schedule: Monday to Friday

• Hours: Standard business hours with occasional late evenings until 8:00 PM

• Setting: Ambulatory Care

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and visitors professionally and support front desk operations

• Assist with registration, check-in, check-out, scheduling, and insurance verification

• Obtain vital signs, assist with patient intake, and support direct patient care under supervision

• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and other clinical support tasks as needed

• Document patient care, scan records into the EMR, and maintain exam room readiness and supplies

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting

• High School Diploma or GED

• Certificate of completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program or eligibility to sit for the national certification exam and pass within 18 months of hire

• Experience using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

• Ability to work a full-time schedule and remain flexible to clinic hours, including occasional late evenings

Desired Skills:

• Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree

• Working knowledge of Epic EMR
