Medical Assistant
Location: Lewisville, TX
Duration: 8 weeks with possible extension (Contract – NO BENEFITS)
Hours: 36 hours per week
Pay Range:$22-$24/hr
Shift Schedule
- Monday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (lunch 12:00–1:00 PM)
- Tuesday: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM (lunch 2:00–3:00 PM)
- Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (lunch 12:00–1:00 PM)
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM (lunch 12:00–1:00 PM)
Job Summary
The Medical Assistant supports both the front and back office. Duties include greeting and rooming patients, scheduling, answering phones, taking vitals, drawing blood, administering vaccines, and providing additional clinical support wherever needed. Maintaining a collaborative relationship with the center’s staff is a key ingredient to success in this position.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of medical assistant experience (in addition to an externship).
- Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred.
- Occupational Health experience strongly preferred.
- Phlebotomy/venipuncture and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience required.
- Attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively with patients, and strong computer skills required.
- Interest in working in an environment where health education and outreach are important and challenge you to make a difference.
