What You'll DoAs a Medical Assistant, you'll provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare professionals while helping ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and check patients in and outÂ
- Obtain patient information, medical histories, vital signs, test results, and other clinical dataÂ
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and ensure required forms and consents are completedÂ
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms, equipment, instruments, and medical suppliesÂ
- Manage medical supply inventory and stock exam rooms appropriatelyÂ
- Prepare, order, and administer medications under physician direction and supervisionÂ
- Assist practitioners with medical procedures and other patient care activitiesÂ
- Assist with pre- and post-procedure patient transfersÂ
- Provide compassionate support and assistance to patients and familiesÂ
- Schedule and reschedule appointments, including managing waitlists and offering earlier openings when availableÂ
- Schedule follow-up appointments at checkout or document the reason when an appointment cannot be scheduledÂ
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and other healthcare regulations and complete required annual trainingÂ
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED requiredÂ
- At least 1 year of experience in a healthcare settingÂ
- Medical Assistant certification may be requiredÂ
- Knowledge of medical terminology, spelling, and office ethicsÂ
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related softwareÂ
- Understanding of basic clerical procedures, including recordkeeping and filingÂ
- Knowledge of patient confidentiality requirementsÂ
