The Medical Assistant working in our UT Physicians Pediatrics Primary Care (TMC) clinic assists with patient intake by taking vital signs, measuring growth, preparing vaccines, and helping children feel comfortable during visits. In addition, Functions as a member of clinical team performing a supportive role in the delivery of patient care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable.

Key Accountabilities:
Certification/Skills:
• Use and care of standard clinic equipment • Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association (AHA) required • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required or • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologist (AMT) required or • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing required or • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required or • Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program OR one (1) year of experience (in addition to the three (3) years of experience required to meet the experience requirement) AND certification may be substituted for Medical Assistant training program. • Minimum Experience: Three years of experience in a healthcare setting.
Physical Requirements:
• Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
