One (1) year Medical Assistant experience required

Summary:

Participates with the care teams in Summa Health to provide patient focused care. Is able to maintain and adapt to daily operations, interpret and execute provided instructions, and work reliably with professionalism in a medical office environment. Performs highly specialized urodynamic (diagnostic) tests. Maintains equipment and ensures proper functionality. Responsible for catheterization of assigned patients, acts as a resource person on the use of urodynamic machines relative to the needs and characteristics of individual cases.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Formal Education Required:

a. Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program

  1. Experience & Training Required:

a. One (1) year related medical assistant experience required

b. Must have knowledge/training of urodynamic equipment, its uses and potentialities

i. Training to be successfully completed within 90 days of hire

  1. Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:

a. Knowledge of medical terminology.

b. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and EMR.

c. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team.

d. Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.

e. Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.

f. Ability to operate, calibrate and perform minor maintenance on electronic urodynamic equipment

g. Adapt the use of urodynamic equipment and procedures to non-standard individual cases

h. Ability to assist others in lifting patients; assisting patients to stand and walk

i. Ability to travel between locations as needed within the medical group.

j. Required ability to handle bodily fluids and possible exposure to communicable disease.

k. Ability to obtain BLS within Summa Health

l. Must pass yearly clinical skill competencies

  1. Level of Physical Demands:

a. Heavy: Exerts 50-100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 - 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or10-20 pounds of force continuously to move objects. Ability to bend, stand, and walk for extended time.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
