Medical Assistant II

Location: Houston, TX

Pay Rate: Starting at $23.00/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Dean's Professional Services is seeking an experienced and patient-focused Medical Assistant II to support a leading healthcare system in Houston, TX. This is an excellent opportunity for a Certified Medical Assistant with OB/GYN experience who provides exceptional patient service and thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and interact with patients, families, and visitors in a professional, timely, age-appropriate, and culturally sensitive manner.

     

  • Provide prompt assistance with questions regarding appointments, wait times, clinic processes, and unexpected concerns.

     

  • Communicate with patients, staff, and providers regarding patient arrivals, delays, and clinic operations.

     

  • Identify and address customer service concerns and assist with appropriate service recovery.

     

  • Monitor patient wait times and notify the clinic manager of prolonged delays.

     

  • Coordinate translation services when needed.

     

  • Assist with maintaining efficient patient flow throughout the clinic.

     

  • Participate in clinic and staff meetings and complete required training and development activities.

     

  • Notify licensed clinical staff or the supervisor when additional assistance or intervention is needed.

     

  • Maintain a professional and welcoming environment for patients and families.

     

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

     

Qualifications

  • OB/GYN experience is required.

     

  • High school diploma or GED required.

     

  • Minimum 2 years of related Medical Assistant experience required.

     

  • Certified Medical Assistant certification required.

     

  • Must hold one of the following recognized certifications/credentials:
    • CCMA - Certified Clinical Medical Assistant

       

    • CMA - Certified Medical Assistant

       

    • NCMA - National Certified Medical Assistant

       

    • NRCMA - Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant

       

    • RMA - Registered Medical Assistant

       

    • Eligible EMT/Paramedic credentials may also be accepted.

       

     

  • Knowledge of medical assistant patient care procedures, medical terminology, appointment scheduling, and customer service.

     

  • Strong computer skills and ability to use basic clinical and office equipment.

     

  • Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills.

     

  • Strong organization, time management, and problem-solving abilities.

     

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate sound judgment.

     

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
