Primary Duties and Responsibilities

As a Medical Assistant II, you'll play an essential role in supporting patients and technologists throughout our Radiology Outpatient Center. You'll help create a smooth, welcoming experience for patients while providing hands-on support to our care team in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will:
- Provide compassionate patient care and help coordinate patient flow throughout the Radiology Outpatient Center.
- Serve as a flexible member of the care team, supporting various practices and patient care needs across the center.
- Assist technologists with patient rooming, gowning, screening, and preparation for exams.
- Safely assist patients with transfers to and from examination tables and support proper patient positioning.
- Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked work areas to promote efficient patient care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document information in the EHR as required.
- Answer phones and assist with communication within the procedure area.
Salary Range: $26.79 - $35.36/Hourly

- Medical assistant diploma/certificate from a secondary, post secondary, or adult education program.
- BCLS certification required from the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of normal and abnormal symptomatology and life threatening medical problems.
- Ability to administer CPR.
- Ability to skillfully administer oral, IM and subcutaneous medications.
- Ability to obtain accurate vital signs and drug refills.
- Ability to assist in medical emergencies and office procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Ability to use computerized patient care systems.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, ancillary departments, physicians and co-workers in a courteous and compassionate manner.
- Verbal skills to effectively convey sensitive information in a courteous manner in person or on the telephone.
- Ability to assist in orientation of new staff.
- Ability to order medical and clinical supplies and maintain adequate inventory.
- Ability to follow proper channels of policies & procedures, communication & work standards.
- Ability to organize tasks to facilitate smooth work/patient flow.
- Ability to be flexible in working both back and front office to facilitate smooth workflow.
- Knowledge and ability to set up and assist physician with any procedures.
- Knowledge of all safety requirements when handling Biohazardous specimens or contaminated instruments.
- Knowledge of MSDS and emergency treatments.
