Location: Austin, TX

Starting Pay Rate: $23.50 / Hourly + (Based on experience)

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Candidates must be flexible to support seasonal flu vaccination events, with some shifts beginning as early as 5:30 AM for event preparation.

Dean's Professional Services is seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Medical Assistant II to support a leading healthcare organization in Austin, TX. This role is ideal for an experienced medical assistant who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients, families, and visitors with professionalism while delivering exceptional customer service.

   

• Support daily clinic operations and assist with patient flow to ensure efficient, high-quality care.

   

• Communicate appointment updates, wait times, and clinic processes to patients and providers.

   

• Assist with flu vaccination clinics and outreach events, including early morning event setup when required.

   

• Monitor patient wait times and communicate delays or workflow concerns to clinic leadership.

   

• Coordinate translation services for patients when needed.

   

• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to maintain efficient clinic operations.

   

• Maintain accurate patient documentation and assist with appointment scheduling as needed.

   

• Participate in staff meetings, mandatory training, and quality improvement initiatives.

   

• Notify supervisors or licensed staff when assistance is needed to complete assigned responsibilities.

   

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.

   

• Minimum 2 years of related Medical Assistant experience required.

   

• Pediatrics Required

   

• Current certification or registration as one of the following:

   

• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

   

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)

   

• Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)

   

• National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)

   

• Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA)

   

• EMT, Advanced EMT, EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P, or Licensed Paramedic (Texas)

   

• Knowledge of medical terminology, patient care procedures, appointment scheduling, and managed care practices.

   

• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.

   

• Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard computer applications.

   

• Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time management abilities.

   

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

   

• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
