Medical Assistant

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client’s medical facility in Howard Beach, NY. This is a 3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). And a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation!

Specific Duties:

• Greet patients, assist with registration, verify insurance, and collect co-payments.

• Take vital signs, perform EKGs, and assist providers with patient care.

• Prepare exam rooms, perform basic lab testing, and handle/track patient specimens.

• Document patient information and encounters in Epic/EMR.

• Schedule referrals, follow-up appointments, and diagnostic testing; coordinate authorizations.

• Answer patient calls, provide follow-up support, and maintain exam room/lab supplies.
   

Requirements:

• High School Diploma required; Associate Degree or college coursework preferred.

• Medical Assistant or medical office experience preferred; Urgent Care experience highly desired.

• Hands-on experience taking vital signs, performing EKGs, and basic lab testing.

• Strong customer service, communication, and computer skills.

• Epic/EMR experience preferred; knowledge of insurance and managed care plans is a plus.

• Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and travel between locations as needed.
• Medical assistant certification required.

Location: Howard Beach, NY 
Job Type: 3+ months contract
Schedule: Shift start & end times: 01:30 PM - 10:00 PM ,(Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday)
Pay Range: $20-$23/hr. on W2
*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
