    Description

    The Medical Assistant supports the physician by performing a combination of clinical and administrative tasks, with a primary focus on patient care. This dual-role professional ensures efficient clinic operations while delivering compassionate and skilled support to patients.

     

    Work Schedule:

    This is a full-time position. The role is onsite with standard working hours (4 days/week, 10 hour shifts). We believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance while ensuring business needs are met.


    Responsibilities:

    ·       Provide care according to physician’s instruction and in accordance with recognized techniques and procedures and established standards and policies to maintain the health and general well-being of the patient.

    ·       Provide preoperative and postoperative teaching for both patient and family members.

    ·       Provide assistance during surgery or other procedures as indicated.

    ·       Set up the patient for surgery including prepping area, draping with sterile drapes, setting up a clean tray with anesthesia, and preparing instruments.

    ·       Scrub in as assistant to the surgeons.

    ·       Hand instruments and cut sutures, keep the operative area clean and organized.

    ·       Prepare equipment and paperwork for surgery.

    ·       Maintain appropriate records and documentation.

    ·       Rooming & completing patient intake/obtaining HPI.

    ·       Scribing while assisting with exams; attention to detail is key.

    ·       Draw blood from patients when needed for cosmetic procedures.

    ·       Label sterile containers for other samples, such as urine, and instruct patients on proper collection procedures.

    ·       Enter sample information into a database.

    ·       Assemble, maintain, and dispose of medical instruments such as needles, test tubes, and blood vials.

    ·       Keep work areas and equipment clean and sanitary.

     

    Qualifications:

    ·       2 or more years of experience in a medical spa, dermatology, or plastic surgery office is a plus.

    ·       Excellent communication skills and follow-through.

    ·       Experience in performing cross-promoting services, and skincare products, and the ability to close sales.

    ·       Familiar with EHR software for healthcare systems.

    ·       Excellent customer service with a patient focus.

     

    Compensation:

    The salary for this position ranges from $23 to $26 per hour, depending on experience, with additional performance-based incentives and benefits.
