MEDICAL ASSISTANT/GASTROENTEROLOGY - PT - 3days (M/W/F)

Toledo Clinic's Gastroenterology Department is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant to perform both administrative and clinical duties. This position will work Monday and Wednesday (11:00am- 7:00pm) and Friday (8:00am-4:00pm). Qualified candidates will have an active MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA) or eligible to obtain such credential within 60 days of employment.

Toledo Clinic's Dermatology Department, located on Secor Rd in Toledo, is seeking a full-time Lead Medical Assistant. This position requires an MA certification along with an MA credential (RMA/CMA/CCMA). Previous experience in a Dermatology office along with leadership experience is strongly preferred. The hours are Monday-Thursday (7:00a-4:30p).

General Summary

Assist providers with patient treatment, prepares patient for providers, and performs various clerical duties.

Works under the supervision of the Office Manager.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Consistently arrives at work on time and adheres to regular work schedule.
• Assist providers with patient care (i.e.: assisting with minor procedures/surgeries such as removing sutures, staples, moles, etc.).
• Various clerical duties (i.e.: answering phones, scheduling appointments, handling patient charts, etc.).
• Escorting patients to exam room.
• Preparing exam rooms.
• Preparing patient for providers (i.e.: histories, blood pressure, vitals, etc.).
• Sterilizing and preparing instruments.
• At the request of the physician, calling in prescription refills.
• Order and maintain exam room supplies and instruments.
• Follow up with lab work and/or x-rays.
• Administering injections.

• Credentialed as a Medical Assistant (i.e.: CMA or RMA).
• Medicare Exclusion List.

Education:

• Medical Assisting degree or diploma from an accredited school.

Preferred:

• Clinical medical assisting experience.
