Our wellness clinic is seeking an experienced Certified Medical Assistant, to help provide medical treatment and personal care services while assisting in examination and treatment of patients. Under direction of the Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant and their Supervising Physician, the successful candidate will perform core and essential Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) duties to a very high standard. Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) preferred.

Pay:
Starting hourly base pay is $21.00 per hour based on relevant experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with other members of the care team.
- Greet everyone (patients, visitors, patrons) who enters the clinic with friendliness, courtesy, and professionalism.
- Room patients including interviewing patients, measuring vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and records information on patients' charts.
- Educate patients about services offered.
- Advise provider of additional pertinent information that is not documented (i.e. if there are concerns about how to document then defer to provider to address).
- Perform blood draws.
- Administer injections and give patient education on how to properly administer injections at home.
- Manage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems: call, text, and e-mail, patients to remind them they are due for appointments, labs, refills, or other follow-up. (A minimum of 5 hours per week will be dedicated to calling and following up potential, current, and previous patients to get them scheduled)
- Ready labs for processing.
- Contact patients regarding results of testing, messages from providers, medication needs, schedule and coordinate appointments and labs.
- Take incoming calls; triage call, schedule, reschedule appointments as needed. Give lab results, test results or other information to patients via phone or email.
- Keep Consultation, Exam and Procedure Rooms clean, clutter free and stocked with supplies.
- Set up Procedure Rooms with equipment and supplies required for various procedures and monitor that equipment is functioning.
- Drape patients with covering and position instruments and equipment.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment.
- Assist provider with in-office procedures and hand instruments and materials to provider as directed.
- Check emails and interoffice communications - respond accordingly to patient or forward to provider to address.
- Check telephone notes, prioritize based on importance - respond accordingly or task to provider for response if needed.
- Key data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
- Maintain patient privacy with HIPAA compliance.
- Collect payment for services rendered.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Certificates and Licenses:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), current and in good standing required
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT), current and in good standing (preferred)
Work Environment:
The work environment is consistent with typical medical practice or clinic with public access, standard office furniture and equipment, medical supplies and equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Physical Demands:
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision and Depth perception. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.
