Medical Assistant

Job Summary

Works under the direction of Licensed Healthcare Professionals.  May assist with scheduling appointments, data entry, and preparation of vaccines for vaccinations to the community.

Job Requirements:

Work Experience:

One year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.

License/Registration/Certification:

Certified Medical Assistant required; must obtain within 6 months of being in the position.

Current BLS certification required.

Education and Training:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Completion of a Medical Assistant course required.

Skills:

1. Highly effective communication skills.
2. Proficiency and ability to type.
3. Knows vaccine requirements for patients.
4. Knowledge of the patient flow process, applicable per Clinic.
5. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
6. Ability to document EMR.
