    RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Medical Assistant to join our team. We are challenging the status quo by shining light on radiology and making it a critical first step in diagnosis and proper treatment. Come join us and shine brighter together! As a Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the Provider with daily functions of the Clinic and provide general administrative support to the department.

    This is a temporary/PRN position working varied shifts.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    (50%) Patient Care

    • Greets patients and escorts patient to exam room
    • Takes and records patient vitals and temperature
    • Assist technologist or provider in the room as needed
    • Enters patient past medical information and orders into RIS, find previous medical records and schedule appointments with follow up clinic
    • Communicates directly with supervisor regarding patient medications and possible contra-indications
    • Starts IVs
    • Assists with oral sedation

    (45%) Administrative Support

    • Monitor the Clinic's patient schedule and assist with managing add on appointments as well as follow up appointments
    • Facilitate patient flow, with direction from supervisor
    • Discharge the patient from the Clinic with appropriate information and documentation
    • Call or faxes in patient prescriptions to pharmacy
    • Proactively follow-up, via telephone calls, with patients that had pain management or narcotics to see if additional treatment and/or a follow up visit is needed
    • Document all patient prep calls in RISLogic or aRies
    • Assemble next day's H&P paperwork daily at assigned location
    • Handle all incoming calls from patients regarding past procedures or treatments, with the guidance of the supervisor
    • Coordinate patient flow with scheduling and the front office to fit in schedule add-ons
    • Maintain office supplies within department and stockroom
    • Assist with cleaning exam rooms
    • Proactively provide daily updates to supervisor regarding individual work schedule and completion of the day's tasks

    (5%) Other Duties and Projects as Assigned
