Job Description

REFOCUS Health is seeking a motivated Medical Assistant / Optometric Technician Trainee to join our team in Danbury, CT. This is an excellent opportunity for a Medical Assistant who is interested in learning a specialty area of healthcare and growing their clinical skill set. Prior eye care experience is not required. We are open to training Medical Assistants who are eager to develop into a hybrid Medical Assistant and Optometric Technician role.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and prepare them for eye examinations.
• Obtain and document patient medical histories.
• Accurately chart patient information in the electronic medical record.
• Assist providers with patient flow and clinical procedures.
• Perform preliminary testing and screenings as trained.
• Educate patients on office procedures and next steps in care.
• Support daily clinic operations to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

Required Qualifications

• Previous Medical Assistant experience or completion of a Medical Assistant training program.
• Strong interest in healthcare and patient care.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to learn new clinical skills and technologies.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare setting.
• Ophthalmic or optometric experience is a plus, but not required.

Schedule

• Full-time, 4-day work week (4x10 schedule).
• Monday through Friday with one designated weekday off.
• No nights or weekends.

Compensation

• $21.00 - $26.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
