Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join a busy outpatient healthcare practice. This role combines both clinical and administrative responsibilities while supporting providers in delivering exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographic, insurance, and medical information.
• Obtain and document medical histories and reason for visit.
• Prepare patients for examinations by recording vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, height, and weight.
• Assist providers during examinations, physicals, and minor office procedures.
• Perform blood draws (phlebotomy) and administer injections within scope of practice.
• Administer prescribed medications as directed by the provider.
• Monitor patients for adverse reactions or changes in condition and communicate concerns promptly.
• Accurately document patient information within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Coordinate diagnostic testing, specialist referrals, and insurance authorizations.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and clinical equipment.
• Assist with laboratory specimen collection and processing.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor medical supply inventory and coordinate replenishment as needed.
• Report equipment issues and assist with maintaining a safe clinical environment.
• Support efficient clinic operations through teamwork and excellent patient service.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program, current Medical Assistant certification/licensure, or actively working toward obtaining certification/licensure.
• Two to three years of recent Medical Assistant experience.
• Strong hands-on experience and confidence performing blood draws and administering injections.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Comfortable using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and learning new technology.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a collaborative team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an outpatient clinic or physician practice.
• Experience with patient scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations.
• Familiarity with laboratory procedures and specimen handling.
• Additional experience with EMR systems.
