    Description

    US Heart and Vascular is needing a Medical Assistant Coordinator to join our team at Davis Vein and Vascular in Cypress, TXResponsibilities:

    • Reviews and assigns accurate medical codes to diagnose, procedures, and services.
    • Ensures coding compliance with current coding guidelines and regulations (e.g., ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS).
    • Analyzes medical records and clinical documentation to extract relevant information for coding.
    • Abstracts clinical data from patient records for coding purposes.
    • Resolves coding-related discrepancies and documentation issues with healthcare providers.
    • Stays updated on changes in coding regulations and guidelines.
    • Collaborates with healthcare providers and billing staff to optimize coding accuracy and reimbursement.
    • Performs coding audits to assess coding quality and compliance.
    • Provides coding education and training to healthcare providers and staff.
    • Utilizes coding software and electronic health record systems proficiently.
    • Maintains confidentiality of patient information and adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
    • Participates in departmental meetings and quality improvement initiatives as required.
    • Coordinates and oversees staff and processes assigned to them, including, but not limited to: payroll, time off, coaching, counseling, mentoring and termination
    • Maintains a safe workplace by following established safety protocols, reporting hazards, and participating in required safety training.
    • When position requires travel to/from other locations, ensures vehicles are operated and maintained in compliance with all safety, regulatory, and company requirements.
    • Fosters a team-oriented environment by encouraging cooperation, providing support, and resolving conflicts constructively.
    • Demonstrates integrity, professionalism, and respect in all interactions.
    • Follows processes and policies for the organization.
    • Reports to work as scheduled, ready to perform duties, and promptly notifies the supervisor of any attendance issues.
    • Adapts to changing priorities, processes, and business needs.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
    • Current Certification as a Medical Assistant.
    • Two (2) years' experience as a Medical Assistant.
    • Working knowledge of EMR systems.
    • If the individual in the role will drive for work purposes, a current valid state driver's license and required minimum auto insurance coverage
    • Cardiology practice experience is preferred
