Medical Assistant – Contract Assignment

Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan
Contract Duration: 20 Weeks
Schedule:

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant for a 20-week contract assignment in Kalamazoo, MI. This role supports both front and back office operations while delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical and administrative skills, excellent communication abilities, and a patient-focused approach to care. Candidates should be comfortable working collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and patients across multiple functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support both front and back office clinical operations
  • Greet, room, and assist patients during appointments
  • Schedule patient appointments and manage incoming calls
  • Take and document patient vital signs accurately
  • Perform phlebotomy and venipuncture procedures
  • Administer vaccines and assist with clinical procedures
  • Conduct EKGs and Point-of-Care (POC) testing
  • Maintain accurate documentation within EMR systems
  • Provide additional clinical support as needed
  • Collaborate effectively with physicians and healthcare staff
  • Ensure a positive patient experience through professionalism and communication

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of Medical Assistant experience (excluding externship)
  • 2–3 years of overall healthcare experience preferred
  • Medical Assistant Certification strongly preferred
  • Occupational Health experience strongly preferred
  • Phlebotomy/Venipuncture experience required
  • EMR experience required
  • BLS or CPR Certification required
  • Strong communication, computer, and organizational skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment
