    About the Role

    We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to support our providers and enhance the patient experience. Our healthcare facility is seeking a reliable professional to perform a variety of clinical and administrative duties that contribute to the efficient operation of our practice. The Medical Assistant/CNA will work directly with healthcare staff to collect test samples, maintain patient records, educate patients on common medical procedures, and assist with basic examinations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Update and maintain all electronic medical records in EPIC
    • Record patient information such as vital signs, EKGS, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
    • Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
    • Work in the front office, performing tasks such as answering phone calls and greeting patients as they enter the facility
    • Scheduling Appointments for patients
    • Point of Care Testing (examples: Urinalysis; Strep Throat Swab samples; Blood Glucose; Pregnancy Tests)
    • Assist with provider exams (set up for papsmears, wound care)

    Required Qualifications

    • High School Diploma/GED required. Certificate of graduation from an accredited school for Medical Assistants or certification as a Nursing Assistant from the State of Connecticut Department of Health is required. Phlebotomy Certification (National Phlebotomy Association or National Healthcare Association) is preferred. Current CPR certification from the American Heart
    • Ability to communicate and work with individuals who have health/social problems.
    • Computer skills are required with the ability to learn EPIC and Outlook.
    • Excellent customer services skills and the ability to accept supervision and assigned responsibilities are necessary.
    • Must be able to demonstrate competency in performing all vital signs.
    • Ability to read and write legibly in English and comprehend basic health information is essential.
    • Bilingual individual desirable.
