    Medical Assistant - AFC Urgent Care Cicero

    AFC Urgent Care is looking for a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Medical Assistant to join our growing team in Cicero. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy working with patients of all ages, and are passionate about providing exceptional care, wed love to meet you.

    As a Medical Assistant, youll work alongside providers and fellow clinical staff to deliver high-quality urgent care while ensuring an outstanding patient experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical history, and chief complaints
    • Prepare patients for examination and assist providers during procedures
    • Perform point-of-care testing, specimen collection, EKGs, injections, and other clinical duties within scope of practice
    • Assist with X-rays (if licensed/trained)
    • Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens
    • Clean, stock, and prepare exam rooms
    • Accurately document patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR)
    • Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care
    • Assist with occupational medicine services, physicals, and workers compensation visits
    • Maintain infection control and OSHA compliance standards
    • Support front office operations as needed, including patient registration and insurance verification
    • Deliver excellent customer service to every patient and team member

    Qualifications

    • Current CPR/BLS certification
    • Previous urgent care, emergency medicine, family practice, or primary care experience preferred
    • Phlebotomy experience required
    • X-ray certification preferred but not required
    • Strong communication and organizational skills
    • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
    • Proficient with EMR systems and basic computer skills
    • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

    Schedule

    • Full-time
    • Flexible availability required
    • Must be available to work weekdays, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
    • Clinic hours:
    • Monday-Friday: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
    • Saturday & Sunday: 8:00 AM - 6:00 PM
