About This Job As a Medical Assistant (Certified)-Clinical, you play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care. You serve as a crucial link between patients and providers, ensuring a smooth and supportive clinical experience. Your expertise and efficiency contribute directly to the overall success and reputation of our healthcare team. Job Duties and Responsibilities Prepares examination rooms, ensuring they are clean, stocked, and ready for patient visits.Welcomes patients, taking and accurately recording Vital Signs Measurement and medical history.Assists providers during examinations and procedures, anticipating needs and providing support.Performs skilled procedures such as Phlebotomy, Injections, and Specimen Collection with precision and adherence to safety protocols.Administers prescribed Medication Administration as directed by the provider, ensuring proper dosage and documentation.Conducts diagnostic tests including ECG/EKG Administration, accurately recording results.Assists with Wound Care, changing dressings and providing patient education on home care.Manages and updates patient information within Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness.Engages in clear and empathetic Patient Communication, explaining procedures, answering questions, and providing instructions.Upholds strict HIPAA Compliance standards, safeguarding patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.Sterilizes medical instruments and maintains equipment according to established guidelines.Educates patients on treatment plans, medication usage, and health maintenance.Collaborates effectively with nurses, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. Required Qualifications Education Completes a high school diploma or equivalent.Graduates from an accredited Medical Assistant program.Holds current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA). Experience Possesses relevant clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting. Knowledge/Skills Demonstrates proficiency in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.Excels in accurate Vital Signs Measurement.Applies expert techniques in Phlebotomy.Performs safe and effective Injections.Executes precise Medication Administration.Exhibits strong Patient Communication skills, both verbal and written.Maintains thorough knowledge of HIPAA Compliance regulations.Conducts accurate Specimen Collection and processing.Administers ECG/EKG Administration with competence.Applies knowledge of basic Wound Care principles.Understands and practices aseptic technique.Works effectively as part of a team and independently.Shows strong attention to detail and organizational abilities. Preferred Qualifications Holds current Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification.Possesses experience with specific EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner).Works in a specialty clinic setting. Physical Requirements/Work Conditions Stands, walks, and bends for extended periods.Lifts and carries up to 25 pounds occasionally.Performs fine motor skills for procedures and documentation.Works in a fast-paced clinical environment with potential exposure to bodily fluids and infectious diseases.Communicates effectively with patients and staff in various settings.
