    Medical Assistant

    About the Opportunity

    Lloyd Staffing is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join a busy and fast-paced healthcare practice. This role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys both patient interaction and clinical support and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
    The Medical Assistant will work closely with physicians and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and a positive patient experience.

    Key Responsibilities

    Clinical Duties

    • Escort and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
    • Document patient information, medications, vital signs, and chief complaints within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
    • Perform routine patient screening and measurement procedures, including:
      • Height and weight
      • Blood pressure
      • Pulse
      • Temperature
    • Assist physicians during examinations and special procedures.
    • Prepare examination rooms, equipment, and supplies for patient visits and treatments.
    • Collect blood and other laboratory specimens as directed.
    • Perform routine laboratory testing and specimen processing.
    • Enter proposed orders into the EMR for provider review and approval.
    • Obtain diagnostic results and medical records from outside laboratories, imaging centers, and physician offices.
    • Educate patients regarding treatment plans, medications, physician instructions, and follow-up care.

    Administrative & Operational Duties

    • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
    • Answer phones and assist with appointment scheduling and patient inquiries.
    • Create and manage telephone encounters related to patient concerns and requests.
    • Coordinate communications with medical providers and staff regarding patient needs.
    • Maintain examination room cleanliness and readiness.
    • Monitor and replenish medical and office supplies as needed.
    • Assist with administrative functions and office operations when required.

    Compliance & Quality Standards

    • Adhere to all HIPAA, OSHA, and organizational policies and procedures.
    • Clean, sterilize, and maintain medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
    • Dispose of contaminated materials safely and appropriately.
    • Follow established patient flow and visit completion processes to support efficient clinic operations and quality patient care.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • High School Diploma or GED.
    • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
    • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
    • Strong computer proficiency.
    • Ability to perform both clinical and administrative responsibilities effectively.

    Preferred

    • Previous experience in a medical office, clinic, or ambulatory healthcare setting.
    • Experience with laboratory specimen collection and processing.
    • Familiarity with patient scheduling, insurance verification, and medical record management.
