Medical Assistant

A health system in New York City is seeking a certified Medical Assistant (MA) to join their team at one of their ambulatory care practices in the Bronx.

About the Opportunity:

• Shift: Day shift
• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: Standard business
• Setting: In-person outpatient clinic

Responsibilities:

• Greet patients and guests, support patient flow, and assist with check-in and check-out processes
• Answer phones, take messages, schedule appointments, and verify insurance and demographic information
• Support clinical care by rooming patients, obtaining vitals, assisting with procedures, and preparing exam rooms
• Document patient information in the EMR, scan records, and ensure forms, referrals, and lab results are handled accurately
• Coordinate referrals, follow up on communications, support outreach efforts, and assist with end-of-day reconciliation activities

Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory care setting
• High school diploma or GED
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or eligibility to sit for the national certification exam and pass within 18 months of hire
• Experience navigating an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system

Desired Skillss:

• Associate's and/or Bachelor's Degree
• Experience with Epic
