    Job Title: Medical Assistant, Billing and Coding Instructor

    Location: 4005 Campus Drive, Fort Worth, Texas

    Salary: Based on Experience

    Work Hours: Full Time (40 Hours/Week). Typical schedule of Monday through Friday, 8 am start time

    General Job Duties: Instruction and Curriculum Delivery: Deliver classroom, laboratory, simulation, and online instruction in Medical Assisting, Medical Office Administration, Billing, and Coding. Teach courses including: Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Clinical Procedures, Pharmacology, Medical Law and Ethics, Insurance and Reimbursement, Electronic Health Records (EHR), CPT Coding, ICD-10-CM Coding, HCPCS Coding, Medical Office Procedures, Revenue Cycle Management, and HIPAA Compliance. Demonstrate industry-standard clinical and administrative procedures. Prepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments aligned with approved curriculum. Utilize a variety of instructional methodologies to accommodate diverse learning styles. Integrate employability skills and professionalism into instruction.

    Student Learning and Assessment: Evaluate student performance through practical demonstrations, assignments, quizzes, examinations, and coding exercises. Monitor academic progress and provide timely feedback. Maintain attendance, grade, and progress records. Provide tutoring and remediation as needed. Assist students in preparing for certification examinations.

    Program Compliance and Administration: Maintain instructional records as required by school policy and regulatory agencies. Support accreditation and compliance reviews. Participate in curriculum review and continuous improvement initiatives. Maintain confidentiality of student information. Attend faculty meetings, professional development activities, and institutional events.

    Clinical and Industry Engagement: Maintain current knowledge of healthcare regulations, coding updates, reimbursement methodologies, and industry trends. Develop relationships with healthcare employers and externship sites when applicable. Maintain professional credentials and continuing education requirements.

    Skills/Qualifications: Associate Degree or higher in Medical Assisting, Health Information Management, Health Information Technology, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Allied Health, or a closely related healthcare field preferred. Minimum three (3) years of recent occupational experience within the last ten (10) years in one or more of the following required: Medical Assisting, Clinical Medical Assisting, Medical Office Administration, Medical Billing, Medical Coding, Revenue Cycle Management, Healthcare Reimbursement, Health Information Management, Physician Practice Administration, and Ambulatory Healthcare Services. Experience must demonstrate competency in both clinical and administrative healthcare functions. Must possess at least one current certification in Medical Assisting (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA) and one current certification in Billing/Coding (CPC, CCS, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, or CBCS). Prior teaching experience preferred. Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly with individuals from diverse social, economic, and ethnic backgrounds. Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students, staff, and community.

    Physical Requirements: Office environment and mobile. Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time and able to lift 10-15 lbs. occasionally. Ability to demonstrate clinical procedures and operate standard medical office equipment. Must have reliable transportation. This position requires the incumbent to have communication capabilities via cell phone and/or smartphone technology.

    Legal Requirements: Documentation to satisfy I-9 requirements and ability to pass drug screen and background check. Must meet staff qualifications.
